As you sow, so you shall reap

How many times have you said: ”God, why me?” How many times have you blamed others for what has happened in your life? How many times have you said: ”Why am I suffering? Why is it happening only to me? Why do I have this disease?”

What is the cause of your suffering? Or in a bigger scale, what is the cause of suffering in the world? All these wars, earth quakes, floods, global warming, incurable diseases, and so on and so forth?
Have you ever thought of the reasons behind all of these?

There is a simple law in physics. This law is called the Newton law of motion which states that:
“TO EVERY ACTION, THERE IS AN EQUAL & OPPOSITE REACTION”. What does it mean? It means that if I drop this ball, it will return to me. Dropping the ball is the action and return of ball to me is the reaction. This simple law became the foundation for so much development in science & technology.

Actually, the same law exists in the spiritual universe. It is called the “Law of Karma”. This universal law states that: “TO EVERY ACTION, THERE WILL BE AN EQUAL & OPPOSITE REACTION”. What does it mean? It means that IF I GIVE HAPPINESS, I WILL RECEIVE HAPPINESS IN RETURN. IF I GIVE SORROW, I WILL RECEIVE SORROW IN RETURN.

The law of Karma is also known as the law of cause & effect where Karma (action) is the cause and the fruit of Karma is the effect.

Now, you may say: “No, it is not always like that. Many times I do good things and expect good in return but I get the opposite in return. I help others but I get into trouble. What the hell is that?”

The answer is that in our physical world there is always a distance between the cause and the effect, between the Karma and the fruit of Karma, between action and reaction. This distance is time. Any action we do whether positive or negative is like planting a seed. It takes time for the seed to grow and give us its fruit. That is why sometimes the fruit of our past negative actions which is chaos may show up right after we plant a good seed to confuse us and prevent us from doing more positive and sharing actions.
Due to this distance between the cause and the effect, we often forget the connections between different events that happen in our lives and we see the life full of random

events and chaos. We forget that we are responsible for the ripple effects of what we have done in the past. And as a result, we often point the fingers of blame at others and say that others are responsible for our sufferings. Sometimes, we even blame God and say: “God, why are you doing that to me? What have I done?”

All of us have a Karmic account the same way we have bank accounts. You are either depositing or withdrawing from your account. You cannot expect to deposit a lot of pain & sorrow, and withdraw happiness. As a rule of thumb, you should have a balance in your Karmic account. However, instead of settling our account, we are accumulating more debt that we are not able to repay. This prevents us finding true freedom and it always interrupts our peace & happiness.

Now, another question:
What can I possibly do to ensure that I DON’T INCREASE MY NEGATIVE KARMIC ACCOUNT?

The answer is:
Just live everyday in a way that this is the last day of your life.

When you know that tomorrow you won’t be in this world, what would you do? Would you do any thing bad? Would you waste your time? Would you think of position or money?

No, what you would do is only pure good actions. You would help other people and make them happy. You would do everything to enjoy every moment of your life. Wouldn’t you?

So, my friends, the secret of Karma is to perform pure actions and live in the present. If you do so, you would create your own future in the direction of your choice. You would plant a good seed that would create a delicious fruit in the future.

You are the creator of your own destiny. Thus, choose the destiny that you wish for yourself and even inspire others to choose their destiny through your own example and your own actions.
